New Years Day – Important Information

We hope you're excited about the first ever Witney New Year's Day parkrun tomorrow! First day of the new year gives you the opportunity to start on the right foot with a walk, jog, run or spot of volunteering at our 9am parkrun!
We're currently unsure whether our normal car park will be available but there should be plenty of space elsewhere on the Windrush Industrial Estate and we have extra Car Park Marshals on hand to assist. Please follow their instructions if you are arriving by car and please do not park at West Witney Sports & Social Club unless you are directed to.
We're expecting more tourists than usual tomorrow so if you live locally, you might want to consider walking, running or cycling up to West Witney. If you are a regular Witney parkrunner and you intend to arrive by car, please allow a little more time than usual in case of car parking congestion!
We're also aware that some of our parkrunners will be attempting a New Year's Day Double by running at Bicester or Swindon afterwards. With that in mind, RD Jody will be getting proceedings underway as close to 9am as possible so please arrive by 8:55 for the Run Briefing, or 8:45 for the First Timer Briefing.
If you are attempting a Double, please ensure you drive safely between venues and that you take extra care when leaving the car parks.
If tomorrow will be your first time at Witney, we would recommend wearing trail shoes if you have them as we are a predominantly off-road course and the damp weather has certainly made for a somewhat slippery top surface. If you don't have trail shoes, consider bringing an old pair of trainers that you are happy to get muddy!
Steve & Tina will be serving post-parkrun refreshments at West Witney Sports & Social Club afterwards so remember to bring some money along to chat through our New Year's Resolutions with your fellow parkrunners

Witney parkrun to celebrate #NHS70

Witney parkrun will be celebrating the 70th Birthday of the NHS on 9th June 2018!

For NHS staff, why not wear your uniforms while you run, jog, walk or volunteer or bring some ‘tools of the trade’?! If you don't work in the NHS, how about donning medical-themed fancy dress instead?

We will also have South Central Ambulance Service cheering squads and first aid demonstrations, a wall of thanks for parkrunners & supporters to add to, live music & cake! We'll also be joined by the Deputy Mayor and special guests from Witney Radio.

Please spread the word and invite your friends and family to run, jog, walk, volunteer or spectate at our special #NHS70 Witney parkrun! If you haven't already, register for free and don't hesitate to get in touch with any questions.
