We love it when it is parkrun day. We enjoy running and helping set things up. Today our dad woke us up at 7am and we left the house at 7:30 to get things ready as our dad was the Run Director.
We met Marie and Emily who were also helping to set up. We set up the finish area and put up some signs whilst they set the start and put cones round the course.
Soon the marshals and other helpers started to arrive and we helped hand out the jackets and lanyards whilst dad ticked them off his list.
As it got closer to 9am more and more runners started to arrive. This week we had a whopping 110 which is a new record for Woking. My Dad handed out Half Marathon wristbands to Josh and Jennifer and a Marathon wristband to Liam. Once you have done 11, 21 or 50 runs you can email the Run Director and ask to be presented with your wristband.
I helped Felicity with the warm up with my friend Freya. We want to do it on our own one week so we are practicing!
We enjoyed our run but sadly neither of us got a PB this week! 30 people did get a new PB though so well done to all of you. We had 15 new runners doing their first parkrun. We hope you liked it, maybe one day you will be writing a run report too!
After the event we helped clear up all the equipment and then came home to process the results. I helped enter all the barcodes that didn’t scan then pushed the button to send the results email.
Thank you to all this weeks volunteers Raphaelle CONYARD, Tim COOPER, Tina CURTIS WYLDE, James DEY, Giada FECHINO, Rhiannon HOWARD, Phil HOWARD, Tristan HOWARD, Rachael JEFFERIES, Freya JEFFERIES, Marie JONES, Emily JONES, Chel KANDHASAMY, Becs LAMBART, Felicity LEWIS, Claire MCDONNELL, Peter MULLENS, Emma PEARMAN, Richard PRESS, Catherine RUSSELL, Jennifer TAYLOR, Judith WALLACE, Gemma WILLDER, Sarah WILSON, Emma WYLDE
