We were saddened to hear the news that Anne Ambler, who often helped marshal with Peter Yates, has passed away, just a couple of months after her 100th birthday. She certainly holds the record for being our oldest marshal. Thanks to Peter for sharing her poem with us, she did love parkrun!
Well done to those who braved torrential rain and impromptu water features this week, and many thanks to our hardy volunteers who arrived early and left late to make sure we could all parkrun. There were more smiles than frowns as you splashed down the finish straight.
We had a message from Paul Tranter that he'd be running his 350th with us at his home parkrun come rain or shine. It turned out it was rain, so well done, Paul, lovely to see you!
Saturday also saw the launch of 5k Your Way, a support group for those living with and beyond cancer. They'll be joining us the last Saturday of each month.
Next week, the first Saturday of the month, there's an open invitation from Wrangthorn g Runners to join them over at the church afterwards for coffee and cake. They are also collecting old trainers and white, collarless tee-shirts for prisoners in Zimbabwe. We'll also be having pacers, so let us know if you can either pace, or there's a time you want to be paced to.
