Who would have thought so many people would be up and ready to run one or two parkruns at 9am on New Year's Day? We broke our attendance record with 740 of you, along with a team of volunteers who were here even earlier. For Geoffrey Hardman, it was a personal record-breaking day, setting a new VM85-89 age grade of 64.34% with his time of 37.46. He then went on to Temple Newsam for his second parkrun.
We had a few milestones too, Andy Judd ran his 249th, then 250th at Potternewton, Sarah Coltman her 100th, Susan Siddons, Ben Meyer, Sarah Papadimos and Chris Boyes their 50th.
This week 740 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 143 were first timers and 70 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 78 different clubs took part.

The female record is held by Lizzie BROWNE who recorded a time of 16:25 on 23rd July 2011 (event number 196).
The male record is held by Dan GARBUTT who recorded a time of 14:58 on 25th February 2012 (event number 229).
The Age Grade course record is held by Treena JOHNSON who recorded 96.49% (18:31) on 12th August 2017 (event number 521).
