11th May 2014: Crowle Gunpowder Plot 10K and Children’s Fun Runs Sunday

The Crowle 10km and Childrens Fun Run is a great local running event that takes place on Sunday 11th May.  The 10km route starts at the Village Hall at 11:30 so plenty of time for a lie in before heading over. The Childrens Fun Runs start from 10:30 and take place around the paddock behind the Hall.

I've taken part in the 10km run a few times and its a lovely route with a chance for PB as its gently undulating.  Its a quick course, rolling through the country lanes and a great finish with lots of support and cheering when you return into the field for the finish. Take it on if you want a nice local event.

Worcester Marathon and Half Marathon – 4th May 2014

The Worcester Marathon and Half Marathon is a great event for all standards. The course is reasonable a few lumps and bumps around the countryside of Worcestershire. The Marathon is a 2 lap course and the half a single lap.

I am sure a lot of local parkrunners will be taking, so you wont be on your own.

If you fancy the challenge then here is a link to the information....

One of our local running clubs is giving you the opportunity to get that marathon feeling, as either an individual (mad) or team member. The event is in memory of the wonderful Stuart Wild who inspired so many other runners. So talk to your friends and why not get a team together.

Here is the race information also available on the Blackpear Joggers website...

It is over 10 x 2.62 mile laps of Perdiswell Leisure Centre grounds and is open to entries of either individuals completing the full distance or to teams of 2 people or teams of 5 people as a relay event.

At each of the 10 laps as well as a water station there is also a WINE STATION with a small sample / taster of wine from different countries and regions for each lap.

Parking is available at Perdiswell Leisure Centre Car Park.

If the weather is kind to us – we are hoping to have a BBQ afterwards.

All finishers will receive a technical t-shirt, medal & goody bag. There will be prizes for individuals, teams & best fancy dress.

A Stuart Wild Memorial Trophy will be awarded to the first male and female finishers in the individual event.
