We welcomed 101 runners, joggers and walkers to Wotton parkrun this week, which started with Dave giving a sad message that our friend from Cheltenham, Rich Walklate, part of their Core Team had passed away suddenly aged 33. It was fitting that he received a tribute by way of a minute's round of applause.
In other news we had lots of tourists this week, some from the closed Chipping Sodbury parkrun and some from further away. We welcomed visitors from Wormwood Scrubs, Derby, Canterbury, Kingsway and New Zealand to a very warm and sunny Wotton. The course is drying out now, and provided 29 runners with PBs this week – well done everyone.
There was more to celebrate with Kate Ball completing her 200th parkrun this week, congratulations also goes to Charlotte who completed her 13 week Duke of Edinburgh award volunteering commitment.
Once again thanks to all of our volunteers, parkrun wouldn’t happen without you and you all made my first attempt at being a Run Director very enjoyable despite the nerves!
