Wotton parkrun #165 – 25th January 2020

It was a balmy 6ºC when we arrived to set up parkrun,  it also wasn't raining which is currently an unexpected bonus. Despite it being rather a grey day, 84 brilliant parkrunners arrived raring to go. One of our Silver DofE volunteers, Sam gave a very confident Run Director Briefing and then we were off.

We thanked volunteer marshal Alice Lewis as we passed and congratulated her on her 25th time volunteering - she has now earned her free purple volunteer t-shirt. Well done Alice.

We had 10 first time visitors to parkrun and four people attending their first ever parkrun. Well done for taking the first (muddy) step on your parkrun journey!!

first timers?

First finisher was Steven Biles for the 4th time in 12 visits to Wotton - well done Steven. First female finisher was Zosia Young for the 7th time in 61 runs at Wotton. Well done guys.  Also huge congratulations to Carl Fivey who was running his 100th parkrun.

Our fabulous team of volunteers made the morning run smoothly - grateful thanks to Kate WOODROW • Alan HONEY • Claire SEARLE • Tom MORGAN • Thomas MORGAN • Grace MORGAN • Kerry MORGAN • Ann FITZJOHN • David FITZJOHN • Nigel DODD • Pauline DODD • Alice LEWIS • Julie JENNER • Carl JENNER • Adam ELDRIDGE • Sandy HOPES • Mary LENNOX • Caroline BADRICK • Samuel KING • Amy WATSON

This week we had our very first post-parkrun café. This was kindly made possible by Wotton Community Sports Centre and the Wotton Ladies Circle who made £30 for their charity - Southmead Baby Intensive Care Unit. Thanks to all who attended the café.
The next pop-up parkrun café will be on 8th February - hope to see you there for a post run drink, bacon butties and a natter.

** FINISH TOKEN #44 is still MISSING. Please check whether you accidentally took it home on Saturday. We'd love to hear from you if you did, so please get in touch so that we can use it again this week**
