Wyre Forest parkrun

This week a record breaking 274 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 46 were first timers and 25 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 28 different clubs took part. We were all very glad to be back after the recent cancellations due to snow and ice!

And we celebrated with Cathy DITTRICH who ran her 100th parkrun this weekend - just 3 days before her 40th Birthday. Well done and Happy Birthday Cathy hope you have a fabulous time in the coming days!
And John FRANCIS who has recently moved to Wyre Forest from Devon has been doing lots of volunteering and gained his purple t-shirt for reaching the 25club yesterday. We really appreciate it John.
We welcomed a large contingent of runners from the local club TriEnergy.
Many of their members were completing their first every 5k parkrun after their recent graduation from a beginners learn-to-run course. well done to them all!
Finally, a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to our collection of groceries for Kidderminster Foodbank. Its hard to think that foodbanks are needed in this day and age but sadly more people are turning to them than ever. We collected two car boots worth of items to these will go a long way to making some people's Christmas and New Year a little more comfortable. Again, THANK YOU everyone.

The male record is held by William RICHARDSON who recorded a time of 15:58 on 21st October 2017 (event number 113).
The Age Grade course record is held by Bryony HAINES who recorded 83.61% (17:54) on 14th May 2016 (event number 38).
Wyre Forest parkrun started on 29th August 2015. Since then 3,876 participants have completed 19,317 parkruns covering a total distance of 96,585 km, including 4,223 new Personal Bests.
