Thank you as always to our volunteers, without them we have no parkrun!
Well, what a morning!! It's always exciting when we see that our course record holder Will RICHARDSON is running as we know that he will set a fast pace. Will came within 2 seconds of his CR last week and so we knew he'd be hungry to try and beat it this week.
For those that don't know, Will (of Birchfield Harriers) has been the Course Record holder at Wyre Forest since our inaugural run back in August 2015! Since then he has beaten it on 5 occasions and taken nearly 30 seconds off it.
And this weekend made that six times as he took another second off his previous best to mean that the new Course Record now stands at 15:46 - that's 5:04 min/mile pace which is pretty staggering from where I'm sitting!! It was also great to see the whole family running too as sister Chloe, mum Janette and Dad Paul (who got a PB!) also joined in the fun.
Well done Will - can't wait to see what you do next.
We also celebrated another course record holder. Ronald LYNES (of Kidderminster and Stourport Athletics Club) holds the age category record at Wyre Forest for VM75-79 (29:23!) and this week he completed his milestone 50th parkrun. Well done Ron!!
Now, a couple of our parkrunners completed their 100th parkruns and didn't tell us!!! But the results aren't so shy so CONGRATULATIONS to Peter CORNISH and Liz HINTON on your 100th parkruns!! I had to go back into the Flickr archives for your photos (sorry both!)
If you're celebrating a milestone - don't be shy and tell us so that we can give you the applause you deserve.
Looking forward to another fabulous event this Saturday, see you there and 'don't forget your barcodes!'
