21/09/2019 Wyre Forest parkrun #210

Wyre Forest parkrun
Event number 210
21st September 2019

At times parkrun can be a surprisingly small community and it can be interesting to see how fast news can travel. I have mentioned in the past when writing up these run reports that there are a number of parkrunners out there with a keen interest in statistics who are bound to notice when anomalies crop up. Today was such an event.

After the results were posted it didn't take long for one of the results to stand out, specifically that of a lady in the 100-104 age bracket who had run the course in 25:35  giving her an age grading of 790.81%. Just in case the gradings don't mean much to the casual reader consider that anything above 100% would be a record breaking achievement.

After a little investigation (thanks Mark) it transpired that a parkrunner had registered his dog, presumably using dog years for the age. We therefore had to delete the entry from the results and would like to remind everyone that while dogs are welcome at our parkrun only humans age 4 and up can register to log a time.

Moving on from that as always we'd like to welcome all of our first time parkrunners:

Robin GREENWOOD • Mark KNIGHT • Adam BOWLES • Edward DUNN • Donni MACKENZIE • Caroline HALLOWELL • Tom MEES • Tony BOWLES • Kerry SHERWOOD • Dylan BEARD • Jamie CLARK

Congratulations also to our milestone runners:

50 parkruns: Adrian FORD (PB!) and James CHAPMAN

100 parkruns: Geoff MUTTON

This week 212 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 25 were first timers and 42 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 20 different clubs took part.

The event was made possible by 27 volunteers:

Carolyn KNOTT • Jonathan KNOTT • Eamonn O'BRIEN • Phil WEBER • Jake GOOD • Sarah PATERSON • Michael GAUNT • David STARKIE • Katy BROOME • Allyson MCCLUNG • Duncan STARKIE • Matt KIMBER • Leeanne ANDERSON • Ann CHADWICK • Rosie CHADWICK • John FRANCIS • Anthony NEWBOULD • David ALLISTON • Ruth ALLISTON • Ethan KNOTT • Pauline SMITH • Caz SMITH • Sandra HOWARD • Katherine EVANS • James CARTER • Deana KIMBER • Katy WOOLDRIDGE
