26/10/2019 Wyre Forest parkrun #215 The wettest one ever..?

Wyre Forest parkrun
Event number 215
26th October 2019

Well I think it is fair to say that what with the appalling weather and an important World Cup Rugby match, many of you decided to give your parkrun a miss this week! Attendance was much lower than usual.

This week 131 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 20 were first timers and 7 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 16 different clubs took part.

Serious kudos must go to our first timers this week, who could quite easily have waited until a drier day to embark on their parkrun journey!

I managed to complete the course with my children who were the only Under 11s here this week which seemed strange. So despite us finishing at the back of the field, the girls were first and second in their age category! So hats off to them for completing it and thank you to all the kind volunteers who lent us gloves, brollies, dogs and support to get them around!!

The event was made possible by 24 volunteers who were just amazing today:

Sarah PRICE • David STARKIE • Katy BROOME • Carole EVANS • Graeme ANDERSON • Ann CHADWICK • Rosie CHADWICK • Lauren CHADWICK • Heather MORGAN • David FISH • Tony COLCLOUGH • Paul SCURRELL • Elizabeth COLCLOUGH • Rachael SHEPHERD • Ian BELL • Stella HOLLOWAY • Sue HODGETTS • Katie HODGETTS • Steve REDDING • Debbie REDDING • Jules MONTAGUE • Hendrik BUZINK • Andy WESTON • Daniel TIMMINS

Thank you to them all, your effort really was appreciated by every single parkrunner.

CONGRATULATIONS to the following parkrunners who reached milestones: Katherine IVINS, Vanessa HUGHES and Stephen GOMERSALL all completed their 50th parkruns this week. Well done all!

More rugby (and rain is forecast) for this weekend but I look forward to seeing those of you who can join us!
