266 enthusiastic parkrunners turned up at the start line to either
run, jog or walk the course for event 191.
47 of these feeling particularly fleet of foot and achieving a new PB,
Representatives from 22 different running clubs took part.
39 runners were first timers at Wyre Forest, 16 of these completing
their first ever parkrun, welcome!
5 runners completed milestone parkruns. Congratulations to:
Mason Price ( 10 )

The event was made possible by 32 volunteers.
Saturday was a double celebration for myself and my son, Will, 13.
As he ran his milestone 100th parkrun, I was running my 100th Wyre
Back in 2013 when Will became interested in running a friend
introduced us to parkrun. Then, the nearest runs to us were Arrow
Valley or Worcester Woods, each a round trip of just under 50 miles
from our home in Shatterford. We were therefore very happy when we saw
a closer run was starting at Wyre Forest.
On the 29th August 2015 we arrived at Wyre Forest inaugural parkrun,
and after experiencing two fairly flat parkruns it was hard going! Out
of 186 runners I came in 179th place.
However, the buzz of crossing the finishing line to the cheers and
claps of everyone was addictive, I knew I'd be back for more!
Now, thanks to parkrun, we've seen beautiful scenery around the
country, and taken part in runs from the very flat Worcester
Pitchcroft to the extremely hilly Llanhydrock in Cornwall.
Will and I have run at 12 different parkruns now, but in our opinion
nowhere has a finishing line quite like Wyre Forest! The enthusiastic
cheers and claps from the volunteers and other parkrunners as you
make that final push up cardiac hill are amazing.
A huge thankyou to all the hi-viz heros who have made 191 Wyre forest
parkruns happen, and here's to many happy parkruns in front of all of
Thank you Sarah! What a lovely report - and we have to agree with you, Wyre is quite simply the best
As Sarah mentioned, there were lots of milestones being celebrated today! It was lovely to see the Hashers out in force in their lovely red dresses, celebrating Daren and Emma's 100th and 50th parkruns. Here are some photos of some of our milestone finishers. Apologies for not getting pictures of you all:
Congratulations to all of you. If you are ever celebrating a milestone, please come and share it with us! Make sure we get a photo too to add into the run report.
Finally, as you all hopefully heard in our briefing, Cleobury Mortimer Running Club are organising their second 10K race on Sunday 7th July! Last year this was a sell out event, and this year promises to be bigger and better than ever! Don't miss out - make sure you sign up here: https://race-nation.co.uk/register/cleobury-mortimer-running-club-1/cleobury-mortimer-10k
See you all soon!
