"Happy Birthday to us, Happy Birthday to us, Happy Birthday Wyre Forest parkrun, Happy Birthday to us!"
Thank you to everyone who attended our 1st Birthday celebrations, what a fabulous morning! We had 186 runners join us (exactly the same number who were with us at our inaugural!) and a marvellous bunch of 24 volunteers:
Adrian FORD • Andrea FORD • Andrew GARLICK • Carole EVANS • Dale EVANS • Donna PERRY • Ellie HOOPER • Gavin MILLICHIP • Harry LAUD • Heather MORGAN • Jade LAUD • Joanne WATSON • Joe WATSON • Julie GOLDS • Kim HOOD • Lisa BAILEY • Lisa GARLICK • Martin BIGGS • Naomi PRICE • Rachel ROBINSON • Sandra PEDERSEN • Sarah PRICE • Vicky HONEYBOURNE • William PRICE
Extra congratulations to Lisa Bailey for joining the Volunteer 25 Club at this week's run. Don't forget that volunteers can also earn a free t-shirt!
Each and every one of you contributes weekly to make Wyre Forest parkrun a huge success so we THANK YOU all! But special thanks this week to some who have gone the extra mile:
- To everyone who donated prizes for the birthday celebrations and to Vicky Honeybourne for organising the numbers game
- To Kim Hood for baking the official birthday cake and to everyone else who brought along cakes and snacks. The cake table looked awesome!

- To Joe Watson who entertained us on his ukulele - I'm sure there can't be many parkruns with musical marshals! Wasn't he fantastic?!

- Cameron Reaves - thanks for the fantastic photographs posted on our facebook page.
For those that missed it, we awarded certificates to the annual points competition winners. They were:
Males: 1. Richard Fain, 2. Stephen Smith, 3. David Starkie
Females: 1. Tina Smith, 2. Sandra Pedersen, 3. Julie Carter
Juniors: Chris Telling and Anna Weber
And our Volunteer of the Year: Martin ' Bill' Biggs

The fancy dress looked amazing! I will let the photographs speak for themselves on this one!

Congratulations to Jan Golding and her husband who celebrated their 6th wedding anniversary with a run first! Photo below:

This Saturday 3rd September we will be setting up early. A group of parkrunners from Arrow Valley are joining us at 7.30am to run our course as they begin a fundraising challenge where they hope to run 8.5 parkruns in a day. If anyone would like to join/cheer them for all or part of their challenge they are welcome. All money raised will go towards a defibrillator for their parkrun.

Cheers all! See you next week! Andie
