Wyre Forest parkrun
Event number 114
28th October 2017
This week 216 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 38 were first timers and 34 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 28 different clubs took part.
We hope we haven't scared away those doing their first every parkrun! We don't always dress like zombies....honest! Congratulations to:
Curtis FUDGE, David SEAL, Chris SOUTHALL, Daniel HOLE, Tiffany O'BRIEN, Jonathan HOWARD, Philly ROBINSON, Eve WESTBURY, Shahriar HATAM TABRIZI, Eve PEACOCK, Simon FAIRBANKS, Nick PARKER, Sally FUDGE, Andrew NELSON, Tom PEDERSEN, Gareth JAMES, Dave HANDS, Katherine EVANS, Karen LOWRY-HALL, Louise DAVEY, Olive KELLY, Vicki KELLY, Lorraine GAYTTEN, Susan AMBLER, Simone BUZINK, Karen HANSON, Olivia WILLIAMS, Linsay WILLIAMS, Rebekah MEEKINGS
Many of those first timers were from local Community Housing Group (TCHG) and have only recently completed a Couch to 5k Course under the fabulous leadership of parkrun regulars Lisa BAILEY and Nigel FAIN. Lisa and Nigel have obviously coached them well as they all finished the run looking very fresh with huge smiles! As well they should!

Congratulations to our brilliant RD Vicky HONEYBOURNE of Cleobury Mortimer Running Club who ran her 50th parkrun this week! Vicky has also volunteered on no less than 45 occasions so she is an important member of our core team and parkrun family.
And well done to Peter CORNISH who also completed his 50th parkrun with us and to Peter COOMBS who ran his 100th!! Both these guys kept quiet so I'm sorry they didn't get an official shout-out. Don't be shy - be proud of your achievements and let us give you the applause you deserve!
We also wished David MORE a Happy 60th Birthday! David was joined by wife Annette and son Stephen and other friends to celebrate his special day and we are glad to see he took the opportunity to dress up and eat cake - two proper parkrun traditions! Hope you had a great day David.
I think we are all in agreement that the best site of the day was Matt JACKSON in his fabulous Dinosaur costume! I'm still smiling about it now! What a fantastic effort Matt - thanks so much for sharing it with us!
And last but definitely not least, we had two Age Category Records smashed on Saturday. Both by runners from nearby Tipton Harriers. Stuart HAWKES finished in first place again this week and set an new ACR for VM35-39 in a staggering 16:29!! Congratulations Stuart. And club mate Penelope Jane BARBER visited us for the fisrt time this week but left with the ACR for VW55-59 after finishing first lady in a time of 22:39. Absolutely brilliant Penelope and we hope you'll come back and see if you can better it.
