Huge Congratulations to all those embarking on their parkrun journey with their first official event:

James HAMMOND, Jane MACNAUGHTON, Katherine HILL, Lauren SUSMAN, Bobby TANSER, Isabelle SEAL, Oliver WHITE, Dominic FLYNN, Sheree HILL

And congratulations to Matthew BAILEY, Graham GOOD and Ruth WEBER who all ran their 50th parkruns this weekend! We only found out about Matthew in advance so I'm afraid I can't tell you too much about Ruth or Graham (except that they are clearly both awesome parkrunners!) but Matthew (member of Cleobury Mortimer Running CLUB) ran with his son Toby in the buggy and tells us he got a 'buggy PB' so what a brilliant way to celebrate the occasion!

If you are celebrating a milestone run with us - don't be shy and let us know please! Otherwise we don't find out until after the results are published and can't congratulate you in person.

We also had a new Age category record broken in the mud this weekend - well done to Patrick ALDERSON who stormed the course in 19:25 to capture the ACR VM50-54! Much deserved!

Thank you one and all and see you next time!
Andie :)

Well can you believe it, we are '100 runs old' already! It's gone in the blink of an eye it seems.

We celebrated our own milestone with a 'Pyjama Day' and invited everyone to wear onesies, nighties, PJs and other 'bedtime attire' to run a PJ-PB. And it was great to see so many of you embrace the theme!

I will let the photos speak for themselves!:

We mustn't forget those runners who reached their own milestones this week. Junior Megan SCURRELL is one of our regular Wyre Foresters and part of one of our parkrunning families so it was lovely to see her reach 50 parkruns just behind her brother Adam and Mum Michelle. We are very proud of you Megan!

And she didn't tell us but the results page did (!) that Sarah CONWAY was also completing her 50th parkrun and she did it in fabulous style by picking up the token first for first female. Sarah runs for Birchfield Barriers and it was her 9th run at Wyre Forest and the 5th time she has picked up the first female finisher token - clearly a very talented athlete so we are really flattered that Sarah chose to run her 50th parkrun with us.

Huge well done also to Ronald LYNES who broke a course Age Grade record this week. Ronald ran 30:36 and now holds the ACR for VM75-79. Superb stuff Ronald :)

Well here's to the next 100 then!!

But before that.... we celebrate our 2nd anniversary on August 26th - so not long to wait before more celebrations - and this time there will be cake!!

We no longer have our annual points competition but we will issue a couple of awards (OK, certificates!) to runners nominated by the core team. We are accepting nominations for anyone you think deserving of an award - just email in with your nomination and reason. wyreforestoffice@parkrun.com

Thanks and see you next time!!
