27/11/2018 Wyre Forest parkrun #163 halloween spooky spectacular

Wyre Forest parkrun
Event number 163
27th October 2018

We have another guest run report writer this week - hurrah for the fabulous Imogen GUNSON for her account of our Halloween themed run: enjoy!

With a clear crisp morning for a forest run we arrived to what should be an excellent event, enhanced by many runners, walkers, canine friends and volunteers in some impressive Halloween fancy dress!

Halloween2018parkrun

A first timers welcome came from Neil CRABBE with much encouragement to the young first timer for their first finisher aspirations! With reminders that in my experience rather unusually it’s just one lap we gathered with the masses for Andie’s main briefing - foregoing the blue and white hi vis for a pumpkin I think we could still clearly spot her!

With clear to follow tracks we set off on the downhill, however just shy of a mile in a local discussing with their running partner that it was all uphill now have me something to look forward to - a stinker of a hill to finish, and he wasn’t joking I’d say!

Beautiful forestry surroundings are always a pleasure to run in, but I wonder how many courses can boast overhead zip wires, quite odd to look up mid run and find someone hovering above!

To keep with the fancy dress theme as we learnt from Facebook... the trick is remembering your barcode, the treat is parkrun :-)

In total 231 parkrunners walked, jogged or ran of whom a huge 50 achieved new PBs, well done all! Today’s milestones were achieved by Kevin LEWIS into the ’100 club’, Lee ASHTON, Helen ROSEWARNE and Sam MUSCUTT into the ’50 club’ and Hannah BOWLES into the ‘junior 10 club’ – I’m sure they’ll be looking forward to proudly wearing their respective black, red and white shirts before long.

Today we were joined by 13 first timers who hopefully enjoyed themselves so much they’ll return and maybe even catch the tourist bug, as I was one of 27 tourists today.

Final note always has to be a thank you to the hi-vis heroes of which we had 32 volunteers today, we really couldn’t enjoy our run without you!

And there were lots of lovely parkrun debutants this week:

Selena REAVES, Claire BUTTON, Chris JUCKES, Anthony NEWBOULD, Phil BUTTON, Harvey BUTTON, Samantha CLARKE, Hayley PEPLER, Liz BARKER, David GILLAM, Charis TURNER, James BAKER, Kate NICKELS, Matthew BAKER, Laura BEDSON, Stuart DEAKIN

Well done to you all!

It was a very quiet week on the milestone front with no official milestones achieved this week. It was nice however to greet tourists from far and wide including Cornwall, Barcelona and Sydney! We also welcomed the ED of Luton Wardown parkrun Kate NEALE - lovely to meet you Kate!

I had a rare opportunity to run this week - and that is because of the wonderful volunteers who replied to my email for assistance in filling the roster this week. Please remember if you have not yet volunteered that parkrun only exists because other parkrunners give up their run in exchange for a role.

If we all take our turns regularly then the roster would be full several weeks in advance and my job would be lots easier. So don't wait until Friday night to look at the roster - do your bit and keep our wonderful event going. Thank you. Like me - you can get a volunteer credit for writing this run report (which as you can see, doesn't have to be long!)

Don't forget that next week we celebrate our third birthday! Where has the time gone...it seems like only yesterday that we were nervously preparing for our inaugural.

As I am writing this and thinking back over the last three years I can honestly say that parkrun has changed my life. I hope that doesn't sound silly, because its true. Without it I would not have met and been inspired by so many amazing people. Wyre Forest parkrun is an important part of our family life now, something that we all do together and look forward to and something that above all else, I am incredibly proud of. I'm not sure what we'd do on a Saturday if parkrun wasn't around!

29.8.15 Wyre forest inaugural park run
Photo: Briefing our inaugural parkrunners back in August 2015!

So thank you to everyone who has ran, jogged, walked, supported and (most importantly to me!) volunteered over these last 3 years as you've all made it incredibly special. As I can't be with you next week I'll take the opportunity now to say "Happy Birthday" and hope you all have a fabulous parkrun (and lots of cake!)

Speaking of which....our core team are not renowned for their baking skills I'm afraid! We will buy a couple of cakes but we know that we have lots of talented bakers amongst our parkrun community so if anyone would like to bring along anything to contribute to the party then please do!

The theme is Super Heroes so don't forget those capes, masks and pants on the outside!

See you all in a couple of weeks and once again - THANK YOU!

04/08/2018 Wyre Forest parkrun #151 Gav’s Run Report

Wyre Forest parkrun
Event number 151
4th August 2018

This week's run report is written by the man who is usually behind the camera - Gavin MILLICHIP.

Gav is an important member of our parkrun family as not only does he take most of our photographs, he has completed 50 stints as a volunteer today and ALSO completed his milestone 50th parkrun.

#Wyreforestparkrun
Photo: The man who's usually behind the camera, Gav MILLICHIP

Thank you so much for everything Gav, take it away:

It was another great park run Saturday, a little on the warm side but a much better weather extreme than the weather we had earlier in the year that caused multiple park run cancellations.

This week 221 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 49 were first timers and 34 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 24 different clubs took part.

Well done to Neil CRABBE who took charge of his first parkrun as Run Director, he oversaw the event & ran it to it`s usual high standard.

It was my 50th parkrun & also my 50th volunteer appearance, (doing the run report counts as one) so not all are as high profile or daunting as Neil`s Run Director role!!

#Wyreforestparkrun

There are several roles you can do as a volunteer and still get to run on the day, (course set up & token sorting for example). It`s really important to keep the volunteer roster looking healthy especially at this time of year when people are on holiday etc. Please have a look at the roster & see if you can help out, you still get the social aspect of the parkrun without the pain of cardiac hill, it`s a win win!

That said Cardiac Hill has lost a bit of it`s fear factor for me having gone up CMRC`S RON HILL during their recent 10k race, it`s painful!!! If you're into extreme pain and horrendous hills ask the Cleobury crew to take you on a run up it (not recommended)!

Well done to Mathew BAILEY & Richard FAIN who had great 'race' to the finish line, finishing in 1st and 2nd places and both recording new PB`S. To get a PB is impressive enough but to do so in the baking conditions of Saturday is amazing, well done to you both & all other runners who completed your parkrun. Having completed my 50th park run,(all at the Wyre) I`m going to try a few other local parkruns now, though I doubt very much though that neither the excellent course or the fantastic atmosphere at Wyre forest could ever be bettered.

Thank you to all involved with the Wyre Forest parkrun, all your hard work is very much appreciated!!!

Aw...thanks Gav! And thank you to you too as without our volunteers there would be no parkrun at all. Speaking of which....

This event was made possible by 28 marvellous volunteers:

Ian DENNIS • Nigel GARDNER • Lucy BROOKS • Frances GEDDIE • Andrea FORD • Neil CRABBE • Adrian FORD • David STARKIE • Duncan STARKIE • Carole EVANS • Lisa BIGGS • Martin BIGGS • Allyson MCCLUNG • Andy MORGAN • Gavin MILLICHIP • Rachael SHEPHERD • Molly MATHEWS • Ryan MORGAN • Daren JACKSON • Debbie HYRONS • Jeremy FERGUSON • Linda MALLINSON • Ben HOBSON • James PAYTON • Sarah BOWLES • Steve REDDING • Eleanor BOWLES • Hannah BOWLES

We hope you enjoyed your first parkrun and we will see you all again very soon.

Joining Gav for his milestone run this week were two lovely ladies... Sandra HOWARD was also running her 50th parkrun so now earns the famous red (free!) '50' tee-shirt and Natalie CARR (and friends from Bridgnorth Running Club) played tribute to our beautiful forest by dressing up like a tree for her 100th parkrun. Absolutely perfect. Well done all of you.

Junior Falan MALONE-PRIEST also ran a milestone - her tenth parkrun. Awesome work Fallan!

Don't forget that we will soon be celebrating our 3rd Birthday - August 25th is the big day. There will of course be a theme....and lots of cake hopefully! More details to follow.

28/07/2018 Wyre Forest parkrun #150 A touch of glamour for a Saturday morning!

Wyre Forest parkrun
Event number 150
28th July 2018

This week 217 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 33 were first timers and 36 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 30 different clubs took part.

Here are the names of our marvellous first time parkrunners:

Lloyd WRIGHT, Billy HARLEY, Simon PUGH, William BEARD, Sarah PUGH, Francesca HALL, Ade CALDWELL, Martin GREAVES, Edward LUPTON, Toby GITTENS, Tamzin RICHARDSON

Well done all of you, you now have a PB to beat!

The event was made possible by 23 fantastic volunteers:

Vicky HONEYBOURNE • Adam HARRIS • Julie GOLDS • Mark WALLACE • Julie WIDDOWSON • Andrew T DAVIES • Joanne WATSON • Jake GOOD • Lisa BAILEY • Andrew GARLICK • Katy BROOME • Carole EVANS • Lisa BIGGS • Martin BIGGS • Sandra PEDERSEN • Lindsay TILLSLEY • Gavin MILLICHIP • Sara HARRIS • Rachael SHEPHERD • Michelle BRIGGS • Stuart BIRD • Gill JONES • Steve REDDING

Thank you all - there is no parkrun without volunteers. Have you tried it yet? Please get in touch at wyreforesthelpers@parkrun.com and let some of our regular volunteers have a go at running too!

There were some memorable milestones this week among some of our loyal Wyre Forest parkrunners and volunteers. Huge congratulations to our favourite mini-marshal Ryan MORGAN who ran his 10th parkrun and to the following, huge kudos on your 100th parkruns: Thomas PALMER (of local Kidderminster and Stourport Athletics Club), Heather MORGAN (Cleobury Mortimer RC and WFHHH) and Graeme ANDERSON (one of our RDs and member of WFHHH).

Graeme and Heather chose a theme of 'red dresses' for their 100th which many more of you embraced! I will let the photographs speak for themselves!

An Age Category Record was claimed this week by the super speedy Fred SMITH of Wolverhampton and Bilston AC who visited us for the first time. The record for VM70-74 now stands at a very impressive 25:09 if any of you chaps fancy beating it?!

Please note that this week, the parking machines at the Forestry were finally upgraded and prices have gone up to £3 for 1 hour (full charges are below). We appreciate that this is frustrating but we are volunteers (paying to park ourselves!) and would prefer that any dissatisfaction is NOT directed at us and that you contact the FC directly with your feedback.

On the same note, please try to avoid parking near to local residents homes. This will create stress to our neighbours who will also take their annoyance out on our volunteers.

If you are a regular parkrunner we really urge you to purchase a Discovery Pass. It is £30 for a year so if you manage to run every week that is just 58p. If you share the cost with another driver (you can add two registration numbers on to the pass) then that is even greater value for money. It also entitles you to discounts at the café and in GoApe (Ts&Cs apply) and you can come and visit whenever you like and support the valuable work that the FC are doing. I know that I can not speak for everyone but I for one truly appreciate how blessed we are to be able to parkrun here each week (and your parkrun itself is absolutely free don't forget!) in such beautiful surroundings and with the use of pre and post-run facilities (some parkruns don't even have toilets available!)

This Saturday sees our favourite photographer celebrate not one but TWO milestones and we welcome a new Run Director to our team! Who will it be?? Come along and see - and don't forget your barcodes!

Keep parkrunning
Andie

20/01/2018 Wyre Forest parkrun #124 Rob and Bill turn 100 (parkruns that is..)

Wyre Forest parkrun
Event number 124
20th January 2018

Well lets be honest, the weather was pretty grim this week with freezing rain and fog. The course was both muddy and icy in places. But it didn't deter 193 people who ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 10 were first timers and 32 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 26 different clubs took part.

Untitled

The event was made possible by 25 generous volunteers who were incredibly hardy turning up to support the runners in this terrible weather. I can not thank them enough. They really are our 'heroes in hi-viz':

Kim HOOD • Andrea FORD • Andrew T DAVIES • Adrian FORD • Carole EVANS • Lisa BIGGS • Martin BIGGS • Matt KIMBER • Andy MORGAN • Graeme ANDERSON • Ann CHADWICK • Rosie CHADWICK • Lauren CHADWICK • Lindsay TILLSLEY • John FRANCIS • Vanessa HUGHES • David FISH • Sara HARRIS • Carl PRICE • Molly MATHEWS • Pauline SMITH • Debbie JACKSON • Sandra HOWARD • Florence HOWARD • James PAYTON

Wyre Forest parkrun is ran entirely by volunteers and we urge you all to take your turn and give it a go. It's easy, rewarding and fun. Get in touch at wyreforesthelpers@parkrun.com and give something back. Thank you.

These were today's amazing first timers who ignored the awful weather to start their parkrun journey:

Lee WILSON, Louise MAY, Damon GARIFF, Suzanne EVANS, Charlie BRIDGE

Well done to all of them!

Two talented junior parkrunners earned their 10 t-shirt this weekend - top runs from Dan PERRY and Grace SMITH - well done.

Phil WEBER earned his milestone 50 honours whilst parkrunning as part of his Amazing Feet RC club championship. Well done Phil.

And what can we say about the newest member of the parkrun 100 club Rob REYNOLDS!? Rob is a popular member of the local running community representing both Amazing Feet and Tri-Energy (and probably several other clubs too) and he is incredibly supportive to his fellow parkrunners particularly newcomers (with his own unique form of banter!)

Untitled
Photo: Our very own Rob Reynolds before he started causing chaos with his balloon...

There are no official clubs for volunteers once they surpass 25 parkruns but we think they deserve the same kudos - if not more. None more so that our longest serving marshal Martin 'Bill' BIGGS. Bill also reached 100 parkruns this Saturday and he is well known at marshal point 5 (about half way), 'Bills Logs' is named after him, though the logs may have moved on! He is there nearly every week cheering everyone on in all weathers - always in his shorts! We are incredibly grateful for your help and support from day 1 - thank you Bill.

Untitled
Photo: Its not properly cold 'til Bill covers his legs!

And I personally welcomed a visitor from Porthcawl parkrun. Chris PRATT called by on his way to the National Running Show and was suitably impressed with our lovely hills and open, quiet course. Chris is a parkrun RD himself and says he will return with more runners from Ogmore Phoenix Running Club in the future and we look forward to welcoming them all too.

Photo: Walkers are welcome at parkrun - well done Gwynyth LYNES on your new PB!

Last Saturday I volunteered for the role of Run Director. Not a role I would normally volunteer for but one that I am really happy to have done. I would like to thank the core team for their help & assistance over the last couple of weeks as they trained me for the role & a big THANK YOU to Andie FORD for her advice & help.

After being terrified by doing the run brief with lots of announcements (only forgot one) the parkrun itself passed without incident. Timekeepers were spot on & I don't think there were any missed scans so thank you to you guys.

*The announcement I missed was for the parkrun on the 9th December which is a club take over by Wyre forest hash house harriers & their theme is panto. So expect a colourful & fun parkrun. *EDIT: check the weather reports - snow is forecast - sadly, we may have to cancel this :-(

Once again a thank you from me to all the volunteers & I will be RD'ing again.

Thanks - Mark.

Lisa and Nigel have obviously coached them well as they all finished the run looking very fresh with huge smiles! As well they should!

29/07/2017 Wyre Forest parkrun #101 Monster celebrations for Helena and Julie

Wyre Forest parkrun
Event number 101
29th July 2017

This week's run report is written by David STARKIE. Thanks David!

After the excitement of the 100th Wyre Forest parkrun this week might have been a bit of a come down, but step forward the Forest Monsters Helena ASHWIN and Julie CARTER with their own Century milestones. Our friends the Forest Monsters are well known amongst regulars for their bright orange kit and for helping to develop the healthy(?) Wyre Forest parkrun tradition of fancy Dress and though there were no pyjamas on view this week the Forest Monsters didn’t disappoint: Helen & Julie decked out in traditional orange with tutus and fluffy leg warmers were accompanied by “The Orange Blob”, and the group ran around together enjoying this milestone. Tremendous effort from Dave SMITH as the Blob.

#Wyreforestparkrun101#Wyreforestparkrun101

#Wyreforestparkrun101

There was another milestone as Mick HUDSON completed his 50th parkrun (45 at Wyre Forest). We also celebrated Sue ALLEN’s 50th birthday.

There is no traditional gift for 22nd wedding anniversaries though copper is now being promoted in this guise, but what could be better than coming to Wyre Forest parkrun to celebrate as did Sandar and Steve WADE from Abingdon. We hope the course lived up to the occasion. We also had visitors from Sheffield, Dudley and Germany.

We are always looking for volunteers to help give the regular team support and a well-earned break, and Vicky HONEYBOURNE ably took over as Run Director this week. The team were also able to provide an extra volunteer Graeme ANDERSON to aid a visually impaired athlete Lynn COX around our challenging course. If you just volunteer once in every 10 runs then we can fill all roles, and this is especially important during the holiday season so if you can volunteer, then let the team know (email: wyreforesthelpers@parkrun.com)

04/03/2017 Wyre Forest parkrun #80 Bridgnorth Running Club takeover

Wyre Forest parkrun
Event number 80
4th March 2017

This week's run report is brought to you by Lucy BROOKS of Bridgnorth Running Club with photographs from Neil EVERTON. Cheers guys!

"Everyone at Bridgnorth Running Club is a huge fan of parkrun and many of us have chosen Wyre Forest as our home parkrun due to it being so fantastic. So when we heard about the opportunity to get involved in a club takeover we were really keen and many of our members rushed to put their names forward for the various roles.

P1030728
Photo: The whole Bridgnorth RC volunteer team - thank you to them all!

Thank you to all our volunteers:

Adrian FORD  •  Alison MACDONALD  •  Amanda PRESCOTT  •  Andrew T DAVIES  •  Becky COATES  •  Carole EVANS  •  Claire MATHIAS  •  Craig COATES  •  Dave PRESCOTT  •  Deborah LOWE  •  Deborah ROGERS  •  Emma GOULD  •  Evelyn ROGERS  •  Finlay BRITNELL  •  Jocelyne ADAMS  •  Julie ROBERTS  •  Lucy BROOKS  •  Lucy CAINS  •  Michelle SCURRELL  •  Natalie Louise CARR  •  Neil EVERTON  •  Richard AMOS  •  Robert CARR  •  Robin GLOVER  •  Sarah MILLINGTON  •  Sharron JEPSON  •  Teresa LIPPITT  •  Vicky HONEYBOURNE  •  William LAYE

I’m going to start by telling you some of the reasons why Wyre Forest parkrun is so fantastic and easily makes it as my favourite parkrun.

1. It has an amazing team of core volunteers. Andie and her team do an amazing job week in week out to put on a brilliant event at which everyone is made to feel welcome and supported. Huge thanks to Ade for completing the set up for our takeover, answering what must have been close to a hundred questions and generally looking out for us on the day.

2. The course is amazing. It’s one lap, which I love!!! It’s beautiful running through the forest at all times of the year. The first mile is ALL DOWNHILL, yes it’s amazing. I like to tell myself that the entire course is more downhill than up and who doesn’t love running downhill? That final climb does wonders for your training and really lets you know you’re alive (even if at the time you feel like it might not be for much longer!).

3. Coffee and Cake in the visitor centre at the end. You’ve run and everyone knows this means you deserve a reward and there are a fantastic selection of cakes right there on the finish line - #winning.

So the sun is out on a beautiful morning, the words "perfect running conditions" were mentioned, and we arrive for 8.30 outside the visitor centre to collect stop watches, scanners, cones and of course our lovely parkrun marshal hi-vis. Everyone was super excited and keen to get to the allocated locations. A special shout out to our youngest volunteer Johnny (and his lovely mum Lucy), who I’m sure will be earning his 25 T-shirt in no time!

Our lovely coaching co-ordinator William Laye was fulfilling a personal ambition acting as run director for the day, he lives and breathes all things running and parkrun and so was generally grinning like a Cheshire cat.

Luckily Ade was there to keep an eye on him, steer him in the right direction and stop him getting too power crazed ;) He gave a lovely welcome speech. Fantastic to see tourists from both London and Cambridge, one of whom was completing his 250th milestone – huge respect! Also great to see a small group of first timers, always good to welcome new people into the parkrun family, get ready to lose your Saturday mornings forever!

P1030540

P1030685

We headed down to the start line. This is one of my favourite parts as there are so many different runners showing what a truly inclusive event parkrun is. Ready, GO! I started the watch (I know timekeeper often sounds like a daunting role but it essentially consists of pressing start and then repeatedly pressing button B until everyone is back) and everyone was off followed by our lovely tail runners Natalie Carr and Sharron Richards.

P1030546

P1030554

P1030555

I know that everyone of our volunteers will have been clapping and encouraging everyone the whole way around, as we tend to be a vocal bunch, and really hope that helped you along the way.

P1030718

There were also big cheers at the end as everyone reached the ‘lets you know you’re alive’ hill at the end. We saw some epic sprint finishes which our lovely photographer Neil Everton has captured. (you can see all of his photos on Flickr

P1030558

P1030596

P1030608

It’s such a great feeling watching everyone cross the line and seeing that the person who has finished first has put in just as much effort as the person at the end. Everyone deserves to be so proud of their achievements every single week, WELL DONE TO ALL!!

P1030712

Times were recorded, tokens handed out and bar codes scanned and collected. All too soon the tail runners were coming back followed by the marshals and signs and equipment was being collected back in and finish tokens counted and sorted.

P1030719

We all had a really fantastic morning, including coffee and breakfast /cake at the end. A massive thankyou to everyone from Bridgnorth Running Club who got involved, it was a very proud day for me. Thank you so much to Andie and her team for giving us the opportunity to take over, I hope your regular team enjoyed a well-deserved rest!

Finally a special thankyou to Ade and Vicky for supporting us throughout the morning. I can’t recommend volunteering enough it’s a hugely rewarding experience that everyone should try."

-Lucy

Thank you to Lucy for a fantastic account of Bridgnorth RC's takeover - we are hoping they will all come back and do it again!

For further information about Bridgnorth Running Club please visit their website -Bridgnorth Running Club

I think I have mentioned it before but the Severn Valley Trail Race (5k and 10k) and the Bridgnorth 10k are absolutely brilliant races, well organised and well supported. The goody bag alone is worth the entrance fee for Bridgnorth 10k!

Now we also had someone completing their 50th parkrun this week. Shirley THOMAS of CMRC didn't want a big fuss so kept quiet and decided to jog around with her dog this week. Tia (the dog) had other ideas and decided a 'fartlek' approach worked for her. And it also worked for Shirley too as despite thinking she'd spent an awful lot of time walking rather than running she now has a new parkrun PB to go with her milestone 50 t-shirt! Well done Shirley and Tia :)

Well done also to all our first time parkrunners:

Sharon GARNER, Mandi PAGETT, Richard WALKER, Jennifer THOMPSON, Nigel BLACKSHAW, Emma CLEWS, Rebecca HOLLAND, Zoe GILBODY, kiri STONE

As Lucy said, Saturday mornings might be a bit different from now on!

Next week we will very quickly be presenting the certificates for our Points Competition Winners and Runners-Up as the competition has now ended. Please arrive 5 minutes earlier than usual to accommodate this as I'm sure we'd all like to show our appreciation to both the adults and juniors who have accumulated the most points.

Our next Club takeover is on Saturday March 18th and sees our friends Wyre Forest Hash House Harriers in charge: "a drinking club with a running problem" as the HHH are internationally known! Anything could happen but I'm sure it will revolve around having lots of fun!

See you next week :)

Male placings:
Thomas PALMER (JM15-17) of Kidderminster & Stourport AC, was first over the line in 19:56 - second time in 38 appearances.
Richard FAIN (SM25-29) of Stone Master Marathoners, was second over the line in 20:03 - has been first to finish on 2 previous occasions.
Dave BENNETT (VM55-59) of TRiKS, was third over the line in 20:40.

04/02/2016 Wyre Forest parkrun #76 Captain Graeme’s 50th parkrun

Wyre Forest parkrun
Event number 76
4th February 2017

This week's run report is brought to us by Helen HIPKISS and its a good one - read and enjoy!

Ahoy me hearrrties and shiver me timberrrs, it's only Captain Graeme's 50th parkrun!

Gatherrr round and listen up as we preparrre to set sail on this momentous jourrrney - the half century for this Jolly Rogerrr. Lots of ye all here, firrrst timers and old sea dogs, buccaneerrrs and landlubberrrs, all out on this misty February morrrning. All hands on deck, it's 9am, cutlasses at the ready, batten down the hatches, give a big heave ho and away we go!

Wyreforestparkrun04022017

Lots of "aarrrs" on the way round (and some whooping from the wenches), loads of fun and laughterrr. Great to see some young pirates amongst the marrrshals cheering us all on and bringing up the rearrr. In true pirate style, we captured them all - all in the form of marrrshal selfies - aarrr!

Our booty was in the pram and, despite many pirates giving a helping hand, even we had to bewarrre the scallywag amongst us - he'll be walking the plank laterrr.

The weather stayed dry and the mist clearrred to reveal sunshine and blue skies - perrrfect pirating weather. Everyone was in verrry good spirits and even the last uphill stint didn't seem too bad - all those yo-ho-ho's and aarrrs really helped!

Land Ahoy mateys! We've got the old sea dog round. There be treasurrre in the visitorrr centre - X marrrks the spot, lets go get the grog...

199 runners
27 1st parkruns
2 over 200 parkruns!
35 1st timers at Wyre Forest
29 new PBs!

Thank you Helen!!

We also had another young pirate reach a milestone. Junior Harry BRIGHTON completed his 10th parkrun and can now claim his free t-shirt. Well done Harry!

Well done to Elaine SHERWIN who added Wyre Forest to her list of parkrun first finishes. Elaine is a Canicross European Champion and we were honoured to have her and her pointer Daphne run here on Saturday. The female CR was surpassed but noted as an 'assisted' run in this case. In fact there were some fabulous 'assisted' PBs this week so well done also to Alan SHERWIN and Tina SMITH and their 4 legged running buddies.
