Wythall Park Community Association have voted against allowing parkrun to continue at their venue, as it "would suffer disproportionate damage". They will be working with BDC to develop other opportunities for local residents to participate in sport and physical activity. Thank you to everyone who been involved with the event.

We have had some constructive talks with Wythall park committee, with some valid points raised on both sides. Solutions to some issues are work in progress and will need to be taken to the management committee that is meeting at the end of October. I will update you with the outcome of that meeting. In the meantime thank you for your continued interest and support.

Further to circumstances beyond our control this parkrun has been cancelled until further notice. We are working with local partners to find solutions and are hopeful that we can recommence sometime in the future. As soon as we have any further information it will be posted on this site so please keep popping back.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and the good new is that Arrow Valley parkrun(in Redditch), Brueton parkrun(in Solihull) and Cannon Hill parkrun (in Birmingham) are all continuing.
The Core Team

Further to concerns raised by local residents we would like to request that our park runners utilise the numerous car parks provided within Wythall Park. There is a risk that these will become congested however if this is the case we will provide a marshal outside of the park to direct you to park in an appropriate location.

It would be ideal if participants living in close proximity to the Park could walk, run or cycle to the event thereby helping to reduce the impact on parking and the effect this has on residents.

We request that parkrunners support us to ensure that impact on residents is minimised, making sure that access properties remain clear and that the roads can continue to be used as a public highways.

Starting 16th September 2017

Further to a successful trial run at the park recently here is a little bit more information for our runners :-

  • the public toilets, located next to the play park will be open before 9am on a Saturday morning
  • For the first week of 16th September can you please use the Country Market found in the Scout Hut for refreshments
  • From 23rd September onwards Wythall House cafe will be open

We welcome your input into your parkrun and have already identified sections of the course that require additional signage, please feel free to speak to our comms person on the day with any ideas you may have that will improve the course.

We are looking forward to making this a successful and sustainable parkrun in this lovely community park.
