Saturday morning saw 297 runners line up to run 5k. Or perhaps that should be be 296 runners as for Amy Hughes this was just part of day 11 of her challenge to run 53 marathons in 53 days. You can see her parkrun and the rest of her 26.2 miles here:

There were 26 first time park runners - hope to see you all again but be warned it can become addictive - ask Ian Ward who celebrated his 50th run. I hope the 27 first time visitors to York enjoyed the morning - I’m sure the 78 who recorded PBs did.

Kim CRITCHLEY (VM40-44) of York Knavesmire Harriers, was first over the line in 16:24 - 6th time in 7 appearances.

Matt BURNS (SM30-34) of Southville Running Club , was second over the line in 16:52. This is almost 3 minutes faster than when he last visited us in 2012 and 26 seconds off his previous fastest time for any parkrun.

Tom CHARLTON (SM20-24) (Unattached) was third over the line in 16:53 - has been first to finish on 4 previous occasions.

A big thank you to the volunteers - without whom parkrun would not be possible.
It’s easy to get involved and none of the roles are complex drop a line to or make contact via the facebook page if you fancy a change on Saturday.

Remember there is no parkrun on the 23rd due to the Ebor festival so see you all again on the 30th.
